The Marigold Project 2013 has accepted the challenge to set the World Record for the number of children planting flowers at the same time.
This Guinness World Record for this challenge is now held in China. The Marigold Project’s plant day is set for June 6, 2013 at 9:30 am.
Currently 44 schools in the Greater Saint John/ Fundy region are registered for the challenge on June 6 at 9:30 am. This is all a volunteer effort, involving community partners as well as the students and teachers from the schools involved. Many of the schools use this project as cross curriculum training in math, science, art, social sciences, writing – even music – singing the Marigold Song.
The Marigold Project has won awards in Canada and four other countries, millions of marigolds planted by thousands of children.
