About The Marigolds Project
In June 2013, The Marigolds Project celebrated its 16th year of tremendous success by setting the World Record for the number of children planting flowers at the same time!
The project began in 1997 and has served as a model for similar planting initiates both nationally and worldwide through the Communities in Bloom program.
Students from four local elementary schools will begin this project as a part of their science curriculum by planting marigolds seeds in their classrooms in March. On Thursday, June 5, 2014 these students will gather on Main Street to plant over 40,000 marigolds.
